Esta caminata de dos días nos permite combinar interesantes sitios arqueológicos con la espectacular geografía que solo se encuentra en los Andes, donde la cordillera del Urubamba muestra sus picos nevados a lo largo del Valle Sagrado de los Incas.

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, in its shortest form, allows us to enjoy the exceptional experience of arriving at this magnificent archaeological site after a few hours of walking along a stone path made by the Incas. The environment and history will surprise us with each step along this section of the Inka Trail.

The Piuray Lagoon (3762 masl / 12343 ft), located in the town of Chinchero, has provided the city of Cuzco with water since the time of the Incas through subterranean channels.

Desde esta laguna, un camino Inka nos llevará a Huchuyqosqo (en el Valle Sagrado), las construcciones tienen cimientos Incas, fueron reconstruidas por Viracocha Inka y utilizadas como centro ceremonial para adorar al rayo, así como un lugar para descansar en el Valle Sagrado.

Esta caminata nos ofrece hermosos paisajes y la oportunidad de apreciar cómo las personas aprovechan al máximo los diferentes niveles ecológicos que encontraremos, como el quechua, suni y puna.

El Apu (Montaña Sagrada) Pachatusan es una de las montañas guardianas de la ciudad del Cusco, situada al oriente, tierra de los Antis. Su montaña asociada es nada menos que el Apu Huancaure, conocido por ser uno de los primeros asentamientos incas establecidos cuando llegaron al Valle del Cusco.

This short trek allows us to better acclimatise to the altitude of Cusco, and also enjoy peaceful and relaxing scenery, very close to the city.

According to the Inka Cosmo vision, the city of Cusco was the center of the universe; the balance point between the three “worlds”. In this way they established a system of “seq’e”; lines which radiate out from the Qoricancha. These lines were directed towards the cardinal points and their intermediate points. Along these Seqes or lines, places of worship or huacas were built so that rituals and ceremonies could be carried out simultaneously or individually. Choqekiraw Puquio is an example of one of these huacas. To the south east of the city of Cusco, this Seqe is represented by a platform supported by semicircular terraces, making an Usnu (ceremonial platform) with a view of Cusco valley.
